Stadium Giveaway Bobble Heads
Traditionally bobbleheads have been used by sports teams as a stadium give away to help bring fans into the stadium or ball park. Most Major League & Minor League Baseball Teams still have 2 -4 bobble head giveaways every summer. These remain the most popular giveaways among fans. To get an idea of how many sports bobble heads are available, just look at the bobblheads on ebay. At the time of this post there are almost 24,000 current auctions matching the word bobblehead.

Since professional sport teams use bobbles from year-to-year, they know that planning and production take some lead time. Often, Sport Teams will start production of their bobbles 5 – 6 months before the start of the season. Typical bobble head production is 60 – 90 days. It takes about 10 days to create the custom bobble head mold. Then the dolls have to be cast. After casting each doll is hand painted then packaged for shipment from overseas. It is best to allow four weeks for shipping to account for delays at port, clearing customs and delivery to the final destination.
Corporate America’s Big Mistake
Unfortunately Corporate America does not have the same experience when planning their bobble head promotions. A quick review of Google’s Keyword Insight tool for the phrase Custom Bobble Heads shows a massive spike in search traffic in October.
The reason for this spike in traffic is that this is when most companies start thinking about their holiday gifts and promotions. Punch Cigar Bobblehead
When General Cigar, the company behind the biggest brands in the cigar industry wanted to create a great promotion at retail, they contacted the custom bobble head experts at bobblefactory.com.
In the Cigar World, General Cigar is know for their premium brands including but not limited to; Macanudo, Punch and Cohiba. To help drive sales of the Punch Brand at retail, they created a gift with purchase promotion that featured the Punch custom bobble head doll.
Participating cigar retailers who bought into the promotional item received the custom bobbles with their Punch Cigars. The merchants then added this bobble to different Punch Cigar packs as a value added bonus item. Retailers, such as Thompson Cigar, used this value-added promotion to help drive sales.
The subject of this bobble was the Punch Jester, long-used in advertising campaigns by the cigar company. The original Punch cigar was created in 1840 by a Cuban cigar manufacturer named Manuel Lopez. In an effort to attract the British market, he named the cigar after Mr. Punch, the cantankerous half of the Punch and Judy puppet shows, which also inspired the name of the famous British Humor Magazine. This unique bobblehead reflects that same character in a fun way that can be enjoyed on a desk, or standing watch over a humidor.

Todd Snider Bobblehead
BobbleFactory.com had the pleasure of creating the Official Todd Snider custom bobblehead doll which was released in conjunction with his Yep Roc Records release “The Excitement Plan” in the Fall of 2009.
This custom bobble is a great example of how a music company was able to create additional buzz for the release of a new cd. The bobblehead was offered to fans for purchase by itself, or with the CD. This item is offered exclusively through the Yep Roc Webshop.

Lucky Louie Jockey Bobblehead
In the Summer of 2009, Bobble Factory had the pleasure of creating the Lucky Louie bobble head doll. This custom bobble was given to race patrons in attendance at Remington Park in the Summer of 2009.
